Starting from the Via Mercatorum it is possible to make countless excursions to reach, for example, the peaks of the surrounding mountains.
What we propose is the ascent to Suchello Mountain (1,541 metres).
We are along the route of the Via Mercatorum that goes from Nespello (Costa Serina) to Cornalba. We have recently left the Nespello district and reached the church of the “Madonna della Neve” (Our Lady of the Snow), also called Forcella for its historic strategic position as a junction between several roads.

From here we can set out to conquer the summit of Suchello, the mountain of Costa Serina, enjoying landscapes and enchanting views of the mountains and neighboring villages along the way, but also enjoying the scent of the woods, the silence and, why not, a chat with some other hikers.

At the edge of the provincial road, the path starts

We are about to take the CAI PATH 519A, an estimated time of 1 hour and 30 minutes, for about 600 meters in altitude.
After a short first ascent at the edge of the forest, we find ourselves in a magnificent large clearing that houses the Aral huts and from which you can enjoy a breathtaking landscape.

In the woods we meet the “Baitèl del Gustì” (Gustì little lodge), where this Alpine is a look-out!

Just before reaching the cross, a sign indicates work in progress:

A refuge is being born here: the “Friends of the Mountain” Group of Costa Serina is working on its realization.

Here is the summit, its cross and its views:
